Status update on AWC’s Twitter chat

We have shifted to a monthly Twitter chat on communications-related topics (first Thursday of every month) still at 11:30 a.m. Central Standard Time, for one hour.

Right now we still don’t have a solid alternative to Chirpstory for chat transcripts. Nurph has been janky lately and is not recording all of the tweets throughout the hour of the chat. We’ll keep trying to figure it out.

Follow the @AWCchat account on Twitter and the “mothership” at @AWCConnect.

Chat update as of September 2014

Our weekly #awcchat on Twitter about communications-related  topics is still going strong (11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Central on Thursdays unless the host has a travel conflict) but we recently lost all of our chat transcripts on Chirpstory. I’m not sure why, but now all links to our AWC Channel and past chats simply redirect to the Chirpstory homepage.

We’re starting to explore Nurph chat “replays” as a chat transcript alternative – here’s the link to our latest chat on 25 September, about guest blogging and article-writing.

We’ve also launched a series of online learning sessions called Know to Grow and Speed Mentoring, which are free to AWC members. Learn more on our AWC – Association for Women in Communications – Professional Development Events page.

Follow the @AWCchat account on Twitter and the “mothership” at @AWCConnect. We’re working on the October 2014 chat topics right now.

Summary transcript for 30 May 2013 #AWCchat: Professional Development

Thanks to everyone who participated in our 56th #AWCChat on Twitter, about communications learning and professional development.

The chat was run by the AWC National Board Chair Maria Henneberry, who kindly stepped in at the last minute. Turnout was low, but we’ve learned that even when it seems like no one is around, there are “lurkers” who are absorbing the discussion.

Maria threw out a lot of questions and thoughts – take a look at them in the transcript and send her a tweet at @MariaHenneberry if you have feedback on any of it. She’d love to hear from you!
