Chat topics, dates and times for May 2013

We’re excited to be in our 2nd year of #AWCchat:  a one-hour, weekly online chat on Twitter where we discuss a variety of communications-related topics.

Nope, you do not have to be an AWC (Association for Women in Communications) member or a woman to participate.

The chat is held weekly, for one hour, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CST (Central Standard Time) on Thursdays. There will usually be a transcript on our Chirpstory channel if you can’t make it.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our twelfth #AWCChat on Twitter, on the topic of organizing your office and/or work space.

This chat was different than our usual format of four questions – we asked for people’s problems and then tried to solve them, or point them to good resources.  Most discussion centered around:

1)   Help for the “stackers” and their piles

2)   Pinterest boards that inspire organizing ideas

3)   Why “admin time” is key to sticking with any organizational effort

4)   Focus on the 6 Most Important Things every day

5)   Email management tips for that magical IN Box Zero

Thanks to everyone who participated in our second #AWCChat on Twitter.

There were four questions for discussion during this chat:

1) What do you use to optimize your website/blog for mobile devices? Plugins? Software?

2) If your boss or Board haven’t bought into the importance of mobile, what are their reasons?

3) Please share your tips for making your email marketing messages mobile-friendly (short Subject lines, white space, etc.)

4) Are you using QR codes or Microsoft Tags in your print communications, signage, etc.? What do you want people to do when they scan it?
