Summary transcript for 1 March 2012 #AWCchat: getting sponsorships

Thanks to everyone who participated in our thirteenth #AWCChat on Twitter, on the topic of getting sponsorships.

Four questions were up for discussion:

1)   What are some key aspects of a persuasive initial pitch to prospective sponsors for an event?

2)   Real-world example: if AWC Headquarters had a webinar sponsor, we could make all AWC webinars free to members. How would a sponsor package for a webinar series be different than one for an event?

3)   Let’s talk about getting personal sponsorship (to attend a conference, for example.) Any differences from event sponsorship?

4)   What are some unique sponsor arrangements that sound appealing to you?

**  On Chirpstory – the summary transcript for 1 March chat on how to succeed in getting sponsorships.

We won’t have a chat on March 8, during the SXSWi (South by Southwest Interactive) tech conference, so the next #awcchat is scheduled for 15 March 2012, on the topic of creating an editorial calendar for online content like blogs and Facebook.

**  Chat schedule and topics for March 2012

Thanks for your support of the AWC (Association for Women in Communications) community.
